KATHMANDU, May 3 (Xinhua) -- The big three political parties of Nepal-UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML - have failed to reach an agreement on their meeting held at Sunday night.

The three major parties will try to narrow down their differences on the two key issues- end to the Maoists' protest and resignation of the Prime Minister, one party leader said when taking with media after the meeting.

"The parties are trying to find a meeting point between these two extremes." Chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Kush Kumar Joshi said.

The Maoist leaders proposed discussion on the meeting on the formation of the new government before taking up other issues, while the ruling parties demanded that the Maoist party first withdraw the strike.
