Lhasa awarded "International best travel and leisure destination"

Lhasa has been awarded the honorary title of "International best travel and leisure destination" on the "Focus on Expo-International Tourism Brand Development Forum", which was sponsored by International Leisure Industry Association and People's Daily Online, on April 26. Gao Fu, deputy director of Lhasa Tourism Bureau has been honored the "Elite of tourism brand design" title.

In recent years, the urban constructions, traffic conditions and tourism promotions are developing fast in Tibet. The reputation of Lhasa among tourists is rising with the Potala Palace being chosen as one of the European tourists' favorite tourist attractions.

On the forum, 25 cities delegations such as Tibet's Lhasa, Yunnan's Deqen and Gansu's Dunhuang introduced their unique tourism industries, showed the main measures to develop tourism and exchanged their opinions with each other.

In total, 36 tourist destinations of four categories have been awarded the honorary titles by travel experts' recommendations, online assessments, and visitors' voting.
