Shanghai Film Festival next month

Qne of the people we'll be watching closely is Chinese director Wang Xiaoshuai. This year, he has earned his second Golden Palm nomination for his latest film "Chongqing Blues."

 And while we're on the subject of film festivals, preparations are well underway for the 13th Shanghai Film Festival that will run from June 12th to the 20th. Acclaimed director John Wu will assume the role of president of the festival's jury.

The showing will come in six categories, including official recommendations, panoramic China, short films, and documentaries. In the category of "tribute to masters", a retrospective screening will be held for American director Woody Allen.

And the "Earth Village" category is specially designated for the ongoing World Expo. Movie goers will be able to watch films from five northern European countries, as well as those from Canada, Germany, and Italy.
