World Expo: Netherlands Pavilion Day

05-18-2010 19:08 BJT Special Report: Shanghai World Expo 2010 |

Today is the Netherlands Pavilion Day at the Shanghai world Expo. The country's Crown Prince Willem Alexander, and his wife Princess Maxima have attended a ceremony to celebrate the event.

The Netherlands Pavilion is known as "Happy Street". The 400-meter pedestrian street curves in a figure 8, a lucky number in Chinese culture. It's built completely on stilts, and looks like a suspended roller coaster. Prince Willem says he's honored to take part in the World Expo.
