Forlan back to join Uruguayan squad

MONTEVIDEO, May 23 (Xinhua) -- The Uruguayan national soccer team, coached by Oscar Tabarez, fulfilled the squad of 26 players with the arrival of goal-maker Diego Forlan to participate in the World Cup South Africa 2010.

"Last week we finished the leveling and on Monday we will deepen the work," Tabarez told the press.

Uruguay are part of the Group A, together with South Africa, Mexico and France.

Tabarez said: "All the players are ready. All of them are hooked and eager. Each training could ratify or modify the final decision."

Tabarez said the definite squad of 23 players will be announced next week, after the match against Israel to be hosted on Wednesday in Centenario stadium.

Forlan said he expects there will be in the World Cup "equal matches" however the debut will be "key because winning over France would be spectacular, because it will open us the door for the next phase."

Forlan said France "is a tough team, complicated and with very good players, despite the critics they have got."
