CAIRO, June 17 (Xinhua) -- The All-China Women's Federation ( ACWF) donated computers and other office equipment with a value of 100,000 U.S. dollars to the National Council for Women of Egypt ( NCW) here on Thursday.

This donation is part of the exchange activities between women in China and Africa, which was enhanced by the Women's Forum of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held in Cairo last October and attended by delegations from nearly 30 African countries and China.

The Chinese ambassador to Egypt Wu Chunhua, on behalf of the Chinese government, submitted the donations to the NCW in a ceremony at the council's headquarter.

"The Women's Forum was a new milestone in the history of Sino- African women's friendly relationship and a successful cooperation between ACWF and NCW," said Wu, adding the exchange of views of women accounts for an important part of the strategic cooperative relationship between China and Egypt.

For her part, Farkhounda Hassan, secretary general of NCW, praised the traditional friendship and cooperation between the women in Egypt and China and expressed her gratitude for the precious gift from China.

The NCW is going to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Over the 10 years, under the sponsorship of Egypt's first lady and the Council 's president Suzanne Mubarak, the council played an irreplaceable role in protecting Egyptian women's rights, improving women's status and promoting social development.
