Shijiazhuang expects Taiwan flights in July

06-22-2010 13:58 BJT

China Eastern Airlines Hebei Branch will launch the first direct flight service between Hebei province and Taiwan from July 22, 2010.

The once-a-week Shijiazhuang-Taipei flight will depart Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport at 14:10 and get to Taipei Taoyuan Airport at 17:20. The return flight will leave at 18:10 and get back to Shijiazhuang at 21:30.

Currently people traveling between Hebei and Taiwan need to go to Beijing, or transfer at Xiamen or Hong Kong. The new service will not only save transport costs, but will also lower the price of tours to Taiwan.

Shijiazhuang is one of two new destinations in the mainland that are approved to operate cross-Strait passenger flights. The other one is Hongqiao in Shanghai.
