DPRK's World Cup goalscorer Ji Yum Nam makes his family proud at hometown

PYONGYANG, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Ji Yum Nam, midfielder of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), who scored a goal at the end of the match against Brazil at World Cup group stage, has became a hero back home and made his family members at hometown so proud.

According to the Chosun Sinbom, many neighbors of Ji, who live in Taedong River district in Pyongyang, have prepared a welcome ceremony for Ji.

Ji's wife Han Chun Yong said many neighbors and strangers have come to offer their congratulations.

"I received a lot of calls and telegraphs from our neighbors, colleagues and fans countrywide. When I walk on the street, everyone comes to me and shakes hands with me. My hands are aching these days", she said.

Referring to the match against Cote d'Ivoire, Han said she hopes the players could have better results with their spirit and solidarity.
