JOHANNESBURG, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Argentine former player Jose Pekerman said on Wednesday that the "history between Argentina and Mexico" is repeated at the World Cup of South Africa 2010.

Four years ago, during the World Cup of Germany 2006, Pekerman was in the Argentine national squad, nervous for the extra time during a second round match against Mexico.

This time in South Africa, Mexico and Argentina will face each other on Sunday, like four years ago, at the elimination round of the World Cup, and it "will be a difficult and tough match", Pakerman said.

"The Argentine team is fine, perhaps the best one of the group stage," he said.

"Argentina has many individuals; it has Messi, Tevez, Milito, but Mexico as a group can make the match complicated for Argentina," he added.

Pekerman will experience again a match between his country and Mexico at a World Cup, but this time not as a player but as an analyst for a TV channel.

Argentina got its ticket for the knockout round with a perfect mark of three triumphs in Group B, while Mexico advanced from Group A after tied 1-1 with South Africa, won over France 2-0 and lost to Uruguay 1-0.
