BEIJING, June 24 (Xinhua) -- The following are China economic news items in brief.
CHINA TO SUPPLY 20-PLUS ROBOTS FOR GM FACILITY IN CANADA
A batch of more than 20 mobile robots will be provided by Siasun Robot & Automation Co., Ltd., in northeast China's Liaoning Province, for General Motors' manufacturing facility in Canada in August.
Based in Shenyang, the provincial capital, Siasun's complete sets of automation equipment have been exported to more than 10 countries including the Untied States, France, Canada and the Republic of Korea.
More than 95 percent of Chinese automakers employ mobile robots produced by Siasun.
E.CHINA PROVINCE IMPORTS MORE COTTON AT HIGHER PRICE
East China's Jiangsu Province bought 192,000 tonnes of cotton from abroad in the first five months of this year, up 280 percent from the same period last year, according to the provincial customs.
The imports were valued at 330 million U.S. dollars, up 420 percent, with the average price up 39.1 percent to 1,700 dollars per tonne.
Of the total imports, 50.2 percent, or 96,000 tonnes, were bought from India, up 870 percent.
CENTRAL CHINA PROVINCE YIELDS GOOD HARVEST OF SUMMER GRAIN
Central China's Henan Province has yielded 30.9 billion kg of summer grain, representing a year-on-year increase of 257 million kg, or 0.8 percent.
The province yielded a rise in summer grain harvest for the eighth year in a row and ranked first in the country by summer grain output for 10 consecutive years.
Experts believe the good harvest of summer grain in Henan, the leading grain producer in China, is significant for the nation's grain security, particularly after the severe drought and heavy rain in south China since the beginning of this year.
