06-25-2010 21:43 BJT

MOSCOW, June 25 (Xinhua) -- The price of Russian gas exported to China must be agreed by the middle of 2011, deputy head of Russian gas giant Gazprom Alexander Medvedev said Friday.

Actual supplies of gas to China would start five years after the price was agreed with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), he said.

Gazprom and CNPC signed a framework agreement in October 2009. In December 2009, they signed another agreement on general conditions of gas shipments.

According to the deal, China will receive up to 70 billion cubic meters of gas from deposits in Russia's regions of Siberia, Far East and Sakhalin through two pipelines, RBC news agency reported.
