Xinhua TV service CNC to launch special live program on "change"

06-30-2010 14:41 BJT

BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Xinhua News Agency's TV service China Network Corporation (CNC) will on Wednesday morning launch an one-hour live program on its word of the third quarter: change.

Viewers can tune in at 10:20 a.m. Beijing time to watch the program, which will present opinions of the people all over the world on the Euro Zone debt crisis, China's drive to transform its economic growth mode and the Shanghai World Expo.

The CNC regularly produces programs on its word of the quarter since 2010. The word of the first quarter was "UPWARD", while "GO, GO" was selected as the word of the second quarter.

A senior official with the CNC said the word "change" was chosen to reflect the fact that countries around the world are bound to "change" to survive difficulties confronting them.

CNC is a 24-hour international news channel in Chinese. Xinhua is to launch the English version, CNC World, on July 1.
