BAGHDAD, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Two policemen were killed and three people wounded in a shooting and bomb attacks in Baghdad on Wednesday, an Interior Ministry source said.
Gunmen in a civilian car opened fire from their silencer fitted pistols on a checkpoint manned by Iraqi police in Baghdad's southern district of Doura, killing two policemen and wounding another, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
In separate incident, a bomb hidden in a bag in front of a house in Baghdad's southwestern district of Amel, went off when police experts came to defuse it, wounding a policeman and a civilian, the source said.
Violence continued in the Iraqi cities more than three months after the country held its landmark parliamentary election which is widely expected to shape the political landscape of the war- torn country.
