ISLAMABAD, July 7 (Xinhua) -- At least five vehicles were completely destroyed and 20 others damaged in a car showroom blast Wednesday morning in Peshawar, in northwest Pakistan, local media Geo News reported.
According to the report, the blast, which sent a huge sound, took place near Farqeerabad locality in Peshawar, capital city of Pakistan's northwest province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, when unknown miscreants detonated the explosives planted near a car showroom.
Police have arrested a suspected person near the blast scene. Army forces arrived at the scene shortly after the blast and have taken security under their administration. Bomb disposal squad said nearly 1.5-kilogram explosives were used to carry out the explosion.
No groups have claimed the responsibility for the blast.
No report of casualties is immediately available.
