CANBERRA, July 14 (Xinhua) -- The Australian authorities have intercepted another asylum seeker boat in waters off Australia's northwest coast, official said on Wednesday.
HMAS Maryborough, operating under the control of Border Protection Command, intercepted the boat carrying 84 asylum seekers and three crew northwest of Browse Island in Australia on Wednesday morning.
The group will be transferred to Christmas Island where they will undergo security, identity and health checks.
It was the 79th boat to be intercepted off Australia this year.
Australian Home Affairs Minister Brendan O'Connor said another boat carrying 71 passengers and three crew was intercepted by custom ACV Holdfast Bay on Monday night, northwest of the Ashmore Islands of Australia.
