Mauritanian commerce minister visits China to consolidate investment, broaden cooperation

NOUAKCHOTT, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Mauritanian Commerce and Tourism Minister Bamba Ould Dermane left Nouakchott on Wednesday for a working visit to China, official sources told Xinhua.

On Monday, the minister is expected to attend the Mauritanian Day at the Shanghai World Expo.

Before then, the minister will lead a Mauritanian delegation to a meeting with Chinese investors in Shanghai on July 17 and 18.

The official sources affirmed to Xinhua that the objective of this meeting is to consolidate Chinese investments in Mauritania and broaden the scope of the existing cooperation between the two countries.

Another Mauritanian personality Hbidi Ould Ham, the country's Investment Promotion Commissioner who had left Nouakchott on Monday night for Beijing, will take part in this meeting.
