Senior CPC official meets Argentine president

BEIJING, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Zhou Yongkang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met with Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner on Wednesday.

Zhou said the CPC will strengthen exchange and cooperation with Argentine political parties, including the ruling Partido Justicialista, adding that both China and Argentina are developing countries.

Zhou said strengthening exchange and cooperation will enhance mutual understanding and friendship and consolidate the political foundation of the China-Argentina relationship.

Kirchner said the Partido Justicialista shares some ideas with the CPC.

She also said it is important for the two ruling parties to conduct regular exchange and discussion on nation building and major international issues, which will promote the two nations' development and Argentina-China cooperation.

Zhou, who also heads the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, said he hopes to enhance cooperation with Argentina.

He also said the China's judicial organs will boost cooperation with their Argentine counterparts.
