MANILA, July 20 (Xinhua) -- A fire that broke from a slum area in Metro Manila Tuesday afternoon caught some of the major offices of Philippines' agriculture department, witnesses said.

Among the affected offices are the National Agriculture Fishery Office, Livestock Development Office and the record division of the Department of Agriculture, all of which are located in Quezon City, Metro Manila or otherwise known as the National Capital Region. The slum area, where the fire originated, is just located at the back of the Department of Agriculture.

Flames and a thick black smoke were seen at the left side of the agriculture, and as of press time fire fighters were still trying to put out the fire.

Officials from the Agriculture Department could not immediately be reached for comment. No casualty has been reported yet.
