15th AU summit closes after three-day discussion on maternal, newborn and child health

KAMPALA, July 27 (Xinhua) -- The 15th African Union (AU) summit closed on Tuesday at the Ugandan capital of Kampala after over 30 heads of state and government have discussed since Sunday issues of maternal, infant and child health and Somali peacekeeping mission.

AU chairman Malawian President Bingu wa Mutharika, while closing the summit, urged African leaders to focus on the implementation of the decisions made during the meeting.

"Let the time come to us for the action," he said.

Mutharika also urged the continent to do the processing here on the continent for what he called "a safe development."

"In the next five years, I believe that Africa can feed the world. Africa is the future of the world. "
