Tuesday's exchange of fire was the worst fighting the area has seen since 2006.

It all began after an Israeli soldier tried to remove a tree along the border, something the Israeli military has done in the past to improve its view into Lebanon.

Both sides are claiming the tree was in their territory.

The Lebanese military says the Israelis crossed onto Lebanese soil, despite calls from the UN and Lebanon to stop.
