Thousands of people rejoice in SW China's Torch Festival activities

Thousands of local people and tourists take part in the annual Torch Festival activities in Nanjian County of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Yunnan Province, Aug. 5, 2010. The Torch Festival falls on the 24th day of the sixth Chinese lunar month. On and around the festival, people of Yi ethnic group gather together and participate in various activities, such as shopping in the open market fair, bull fighting, dancing, and a firework display. It is also a good opportunity for young men and women to meet their prospective spouses. (Xinhua/Shi Zhihong)
