More and more young people are starting online shops, according to Hua Shang News.
Although operating performance varies, the total number of domestic individual online shops is now over 10 million, according to a report published by the China e-Business Research Center on Aug. 5.
The report showed that as of June 2010, the number of individual online shops has reached 12 million, and with the rapid growth rate, it is expected that by the end of 2010 the number of online shops will reach 13 million.
Because of the severe unemployment situation, some university graduates and urban unemployed have achieved employment by starting e-businesses, which do not require much capital, on third-party online shopping platforms like Taobao. This has led to a new upsurge in the number of online businesses.
