Japanese Cultural Festival opens in Hanoi

HANOI, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Japanese southern prefecture of Fukuoka held a culture festival in Vietnamese capital city of Hanoi on Tuesday.

In his opening speech, Deputy Governor of Fukuoka Ushio Takeo said the culture festival is expected to provide a chance for people in Hanoi to enjoy Japanese tea, fruits and food, observe the art of flower arrangement, and gain a better understanding of Japan's education and tourism environment, said Takeo.

Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, deputy chairwoman of Hanoi People's Committee said Hanoi would like to enhance cooperation with Fukuoka on boosting friendship cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, culture, education and sports.

During the culture festival, various activities will take place including exhibitions, fashion shows, and music and dance performances to introduce culture of Fukuoka and Japan . The event will last till Friday.
