PARIS, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- France has sent a radical Islamist back to Egypt in "absolute emergency" as he menaced the public order, the country's interior minister said on Thursday.
"I proceeded to the urgent expulsion of Ali Ibrahim El Soudany . .. to Egypt, his country of origin," said Brice Hortefeux in a statement.
The former imam of Hamza Pantin mosque in Seine-Saint-Denis, in Paris suburbs, had been expelled once in January. But "he recently reappeared on the national territory," said the minister.
"The preacher of hate had repeatedly made violent comments hostile to the Western world and totally contrary to the values of our society," the minister added.
France has expelled 125 radical Islamists including 29 imams and preachers since 2002.
