Portugal wins Euro beach soccer league

LISBON, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- With the help of Bruno Novo's wonderful goal, Portugal beat Italy 3-2 in the superfinal of EBSL 2010 in Lisbon on Sunday.

Thereby hosts got their wish and obtained their 4th title in the tournament after the winning in year 2002, 2007 and 2008.

As expected, the match was hard-fought. Italy opened the scoring two minutes into the match, but Portugal responded with a quick goal from Alan.

When Novo contributed his first goal, the crowd was going crazy. But Italy was not easy to give in and Gori finished an incredible shooting and made a goal.

The two sides were back to a new beginning. Minutes were passing by, perhaps hosts' devoted supporters brought fortune, Novo grasped a chance finally and managed victory for his team and people.

In earlier matches, Russia punished Switzerland 7-3, Spain gave Romania a serve defeat with 7-1.

In the final ranking of EBSL Superfina 2010, Italy finished second, ahead of Russia, Switzerland, Spain and Romania.
