Construction begins on Hainan International Friendship Park

The Foreign Affairs Office of Hainan Province has revealed that construction on the Hainan International Friendship Park is slated to begin at the end of 2010 and is expected to finish in 2011.

Initially the Hainan International Friendship Park, which will also be known as "the Little Expo", will have five to 10 sites for the province's domestic and international sister cities. Later, more sister cities will have their own sites in the park.

The government of Hyogo in Japan, which is Hainan's first sister city, has invested CNY1.2 million building a "Hyogo Friendship Courtyard", and is expected to become the first city to have a site in the park.
