RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- At home against leader Fluminense, Guarani came from behind to win 2-1 on Sunday in the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship. The loss places Fluminense's leadership in risk.

Fluminense scored to break the deadlock in the 11th minute. Falling to the ground, Washington passed the ball off to Emerson who then completed the play by firing the ball into the back of the goal.

Guarani equalized in the 33rd minute. Off an indirect kick, Baiano sent the ball past the wall of defenders and into the upper left corner of the Fluminense goal. The host then took the lead in the 76th minute. Off another stopped ball, Fabao sent the ball through the middle of the defensive wall, placing the ball into the left side of the goal.

The loss keeps Fluminense provisionally in first place with 38 points. Second place Corinthians will make-up their 18th round match against Vasco da Gama on October 13, giving the team from Sao Paulo the chance to take the lead, trailing Fluminense by only one point.

Guarani's win takes them to 26 points, landing in ninth place. In the 20th round, the team will travel to face Goias on Wednesday. On the same day, Fluminense will host Ceara.
