MATYBULAK RANGE, Kazakhstan, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese military artistic troupe gave a splendid evening performance Tuesday at the Matybulak training range in Kazakhstan, where troops from five Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) members are conducting joint anti-terror drills.

The performance, that included a variety of programs such as solo singing, group dancing, Beijing Opera, vocal mimicry and magic, was presented by actors and actresses from the Comrades-in-Arms Cultural Troupe of the Beijing Military Area Command (MAC) of China.

Liu Bin, head of the troupe, said there were a total of 39 performers here from his troupe and that they hoped their performance could enrich the cultural life of the soldiers and officers of Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.

Art troupes from Kazakhstan, China, Russia and Kyrgyzstan take turns to stage performances at the Matybulak range starting Monday.

They will also present a joint performance on Sept. 25, when the military drill ends.

"Peace Mission 2010," a multi-national anti-terror drill, began on Friday in Kazakhstan. It is the seventh of its kind launched under the SCO framework.

The joint training was aimed at giving participating troops a better understanding of the land, action sequences and methods of coordinated combat.

All SCO member states but Uzbekistan are taking part in the event.
