BAGHDAD, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Two Iraqi soldiers were killed and 10 others were wounded in separate bomb attacks in Baghdad and Iraq's northern city of Kirkuk on Tuesday, the police said.

Two Iraqi soldiers were killed and one was injured in a roadside bomb explosion near their patrol in central the Kirkuk city, some 250 km north of Baghdad, a local police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The blast also badly damaged one of the patrol's vehicles, the source said.

In Baghdad, five street cleaners were wounded when a roadside bomb detonated among them in Bab al-Sharji area in downtown the capital, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

In a separate incident, three civilians and one policeman were wounded in a roadside bomb explosion near a police patrol on a highway near New Baghdad neighborhood in southern the capital, the source said.

Also in Baghdad, a roadside bomb detonated near a U.S. military patrol while moving on a main road near Doura district in southern the capital, the source said without giving further details about the incident.

The U.S. military did not confirm the incident yet.

Violence is still common in Iraqi cities as part of recent deterioration in security which shaped a setback to the efforts of the Iraqi government to restore normalcy in the country months after violence-torn Iraq held parliamentary elections on March 7.
