Central regions to enjoy favorable land policy

09-26-2010 14:30 BJT

China's Ministry of Land and Resources will support development in the country's six centrally-located provinces with favorable policies, Xinhua reported Saturday.

The six provinces include Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan.

The Ministry will ease land quota to fulfill their need for major infrastructure construction and high-tech service industry, Zhang Hongtao, chief engineer at the Ministry of Land and Resources, was quoted as saying by the report.

It will also ensure land supply for equipment manufacturing, new building materials, agricultural product processing, and coal-energy chemical bases in the six provinces.

Zhang said that his ministry will support an overall plan on the use of land resources in the six provinces and support them in building a food production base, according to the report.

In addition, the ministry will also help explore, develop, utilize and protect their mineral resources.
