Paraguayan president to leave hospital next week

BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) - Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo who has been hospitalized in Brazil, "is stable and could leave the intensive care" next week, his doctor Alfredo Boccia said Sunday.

According to information reaching here from Asuncion, Paraguay' s capital, Baccia said that they would let Lugo leave the hospital when his stroke symptoms lighten.

Lugo, who has been in Sikrio Libanes Hospital of Sao Paulo, Brazil, for treatment against cancer, got a stroke on Saturday night.

According to Boccia, Lugo got the stroke due to the treatment against cancer that he had received, but the president could be back to Paraguay on Wednesday

Boccia said that Lugo would get a CT scan and after that he would leave the intensive care.
