PYONGYANG, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), met a delegation from China's People's Daily newspaper led by Deputy Editor-in-Chief Ma Li at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Wednesday.

Kim Ki Nam said at the meeting top DPRK leader Kim Jong Il had paid two visits to China so far this year and had important and successful talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao, effectively promoting the relationship between the two countries.

Ma Li said that Oct. 25 of this year was the 60th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean War front. The elder revolutionists made great contribution to the construction and development of the traditional China-DPRK friendship, which promoted the socialistic construction of the two countries and ensured the peace and stability of this area.

The Chinese delegation arrived in Pyongyang on Oct. 18 and is paying a five-day visit here at the invitation of the Rodong Sinmun newspaper.
