The vehicle they were riding was damaged in the blast, they said.

On Wednesday, another landmine explosion injured at least six troops and destroyed an army vehicle in the nearby Mohmand tribal region.

Earlier on Oct. 7, two patrolling troops were also killed in a landmine blast in the tribal belt.
