Fashion Show-Reflection

10-23-2010 15:36 BJT Special Report:Shanghai World Expo 2010 |

Venue: Europe Square

Our collections were demonstrated to a large mass at the Turkish Festival organized in Chicago, US, on invitation and became the “Event that left its mark on the Festival” according to a survey among American citizens.

Our Institute was invited to the 2004 Med Fashion Festival organized in Italy, “Festival Internazionale Della Moda,” to represent our country.

Our Institute fulfilled its mission of representing Turkey in Moscow, Egypt, Syria and Algeria in 2005 at various international fairs, and promoted our country’s cultural and artistic riches. We continued to be Turkey’s ambassador for culture at the Singapore International Textile Fair with a fashion show that featured Turkish textiles to the world’s markets, which received great acclaim.

In 2006 our collection was displayed to large masses in Germany, Belgium, Kazakhstan and Cyprus, and in 2007 our Sufi-themed collection titled “Can-a Mifa” was presented to big audiences in New York, US, and Istanbul as planned in our project. Come 2008, our school made successful performances representing Turkey with mixed collections to be presented at Turkish weeks or Turkish culture days in Moldova, Germany, Australia, Algeria and Colombia.

Our Institute enrolled in numerous events to represent our country around Turkey and abroad. Our endeavors continue. It gives us pride that having joined European Union Education and Youth Projects in Germany, UK, France, Italy and Spain, Ankara Olgunlasma Institute has now come to be a recognized institute in the international arena and is an institute of choice for partnered events.

In this context and counting on the motivation and experience harvested from Ankara Olgunlasma Institute’s success in representing our traditional arts and culture abroad, we believe that our work titled “YANSIMALAR” (“REFLECTIONS”) prepared specifically for this special event will allow us to represent the intellectual, spiritual and cultural wealth of the Turkish people with the same pride and success as before, and make an artful demonstration of the considerable distance our country covered in terms of modernization while carefully conserving its traditional assets.

Dedicated to the research and development of Turkish articles of clothing and handicrafts, and the promotion in Turkey and abroad of the values of Anatolia through modern designs at various fashion shows and exhibitions since its establishment in 1958, Ankara Olgunlasma Institute prepares various mixed fashion shows and performances to demonstrate the designs made in honor of our historical wealth, national holidays, generally accepted phenomena and traditions of the Turkish society. These demonstrations are widely sought after and invited to participate in events in Turkey and abroad.
