Highlights of Chinese president's activities in Seoul on Thursday

SEOUL, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived in Seoul on Thursday for the fifth summit of the Group of 20, which will address the challenges to the ongoing global economic recovery and pave ways for future sustainable and balanced growth.

The following are highlights of Hu's activities in Seoul on Thursday.

-- President Hu met with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on the sidelines of the G-20 summit slated for Thursday and Friday, saying that China is ready to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Russia within the framework of the G-20.

-- President Hu met with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak to discuss bilateral ties and other issues of common interest. The two presidents reached a consensus on further strengthening relations between their two countries and on how to successfully hold the G-20 summit in Seoul.

-- President Hu met with U.S. President Barack Obama. Hu told Obama on the sidelines of the fifth summit of G-20 that China is willing to strengthen the dialogue, exchanges and cooperation with the United States so as to further promote their positive, cooperative and comprehensive relations.

The two leaders agreed to continue pushing forward the globally significant relations between their two countries.
