DPRK leader meets Chinese public health delegation

PYONGYANG, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Kim Yong Nam, a senior official of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Wednesday met a Chinese government public health delegation at the Mansudae Assembly Hall.

Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK greeted the delegation. He hopes both countries' departments of public health further strengthen their communications and cooperation, making greater contributions to the development of relations between the two countries.

Chen Zhu, China's health minister and leader of the Chinese government public health delegation, said the agreement between the two countries' departments of public health would be implemented earnestly. China will strengthen the communication and cooperation with the DPRK's department of public health.

A DPRK-China intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in public health and medical science was signed by the DPRK's Ministry of Public Health and the Chinese government public health delegation at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on the same day.
