Chinese foreign minister postpones visit to ROK due to schedule

BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi delayed his planned visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK), Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said Thursday.

"Minister Yang has planned to visit the ROK in the coming days, but has to postpone the visit due to his schedule," Hong said in a statement.

Hong said China thanked the ROK for making preparations for Yang's visit, adding the two countries would reschedule Yang's visit.

Yang had been scheduled to visit the ROK from Nov. 26 to 27 at the invitation of his ROK counterpart Kim Sung-hwan, according to the announcement by the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Nov.18.
