Guangzhou, November 26 - A special cheer squad for the Asian Games showed up in Tianhe Sports Centre to cheer for the Men's Football event, together with over 60 thousand spectators, on Thursday afternoon. And they were also accompanied by a group of volunteers, which made the event even more special.

This cheer squad organised by Guangzhou Disabled Persons' Federation was comprised of people with disabilities, and this activity aimed to offer an opportunity for them to get involved with the exciting sporting event. Every member of the cheer squad has already learned the Asian Games cheering slogan, gestures and other cheering exercises.

Three volunteers are helping a spectator with disabilities to enter the
competition venue.

Every shot made them excited. A cheer squad member surnamed Zheng said, "I am very happy to be here to cheer for football players. And I hope that the audiences will come to support the Guangzhou Asian Para Games slated for December as well."

To welcome this cheer squad, Tianhe Sports Centre installed wheelchair accessible facilities to ensure an easy entry. In addition, a group of volunteers were sent to accompany them from the very beginning. One of the volunteer Xiaopeng told, "Before the competition, I reviewed skills of serving people with disabilities and I have confidence that I can offer them satisfactory service."

Two volunteers are helping a member of the cheer squad to pass a buffer
zone.

Jiang Lan, another member of the cheer squad from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies also gave his thumbs up to Lv Yangyang (nickname for the Guangzhou Asian Games volunteers) attending him. He said, "Their service is very considerate and professional. It makes me feel very warm."  On hearing this, a volunteer surnamed Xu said, "I am just doing my job. I am delighted to help these friends. I hope that more attention will be paid to the Guangzhou Asian Para Games. It will be as amazing as the Asian Games."
