DPRK's national library holds graduation ceremony of Chinese class

PYONGYANG, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- The People's Hall of Study, the national library of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Wednesday held a graduation ceremony for its Chinese class.

The graduation ceremony of short-term Chinese language class of the second half of
Year 2010 and publication of the writings about the friendship between China and
the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in the Grand People's Study House
in Pyongyang, Dec. 1, 2010. Over 300 graduates attended the ceremony on Wednesday.

The Chinese class was held in a golden period of DPRK-China friendship, People's Hall of Study vice-director Hong Hyon Mun said in his speech.

He encouraged all the students of the class to actively learn Chinese to make greater contributions for the traditional DPRK-China friendship.

Chinese ambassador to the DPRK Liu Hongcai and staff of the Chinese embassy also attended the ceremony.

Liu congratulated the students, saying the class had made a positive contribution to communication between the two countries and the development of the China-DPRK friendship.

He expressed hope the students would continue learning Chinese.

The ambassador also presented Chinese-Korean Dictionaries as gifts to the students and teacher of the class.

More than 300 students from various walks of life in the country attended the five-month class, which is held in two sessions per year.
