Taiwan's largest carrier to open new flight to Jinan

JINAN, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan-based EVA Airways will start flying from Taipei to Jinan, capital of eastern Shandong Province, from Saturday, the government of Jinan announced Tuesday at a press briefing.

The weekly flight is scheduled to depart Saturday at 4:25 p.m. local time from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and land in Jinan International Airport at 7:35 p.m.

The return flight will take off at 8:34 p.m. the same day and touch down in Taipei at 11:40 p.m.

A 252-seat plane, Airbus A-330-200, will be used for the flight, according to the announcement.

As Taiwan's largest international carrier, EVA Airways is expanding its service in the mainland to meet the growing demand.

On Dec. 10, EVA Airways starts flying to Zhengzhou, capital of central Henan Province, where there are more than 400 Taiwanese companies.

The carrier has currently 77 flights a week, covering 17 destinations in the mainland, including Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai.
