Chinese president honors outstanding military unit, individuals

BEIJING, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao, also Chairman of the Central Military Commission, has signed an order to honor a People's Liberation Army (PLA) unit and 22 individuals for their outstanding military service.

No. 69098 troop received the first-class merit for "outstanding performance in important missions," according to the order, without giving details.

Shao Junqing, commander of Dalian sub-command under the Liaoning provincial PLA command, and Zhang Yong, commander of No. 72433 troop, were granted the first-class merits also for "outstanding performance in the important missions."

Another 16 officers, research fellows serving in the armed forces and military institutes, and military doctors were awarded first-class merits.

The other four individuals received second-class merits.
