Another Australian search and rescue team heads to Christchurch

CANBERRA, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Another team of search and rescue experts from Melbourne of Australia on Friday is heading to the earthquake zone in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The group is made up of 11 firefighters, paramedics and a civil engineer.

According to George Arnold from the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, the most of the crews have not worked in a disaster of this size.

"It'll be still looking for victims and they may be moving into a recovery mode," he told ABC News on Friday.

"The mentality is that while we're still there and people haven’t been found that there's still a glimmer of hope."

New Zealand official confirmed that the death toll from the violent 6.3-magnitude earthquake in Christchurch is 163. The final death toll is expected to be about 220.
