China, Kyrgyzstan vow to deepen trade, security cooperation

BEIJING, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan met with Omurbek Bananov, first Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, here on Wednesday, agreeing to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade and security.

Wang praised the sound development of bilateral relations, featuring frequent high-level exchanges and increasing mutual political trust.

He said China would work with Kyrgyzstan to carry out cooperative projects agreed on by the two sides and continue to enhance cooperation in trade, transportation, finance, agriculture and security.

Babanov said developing ties with China was the priority of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy. He thanked China for its long-term support and help to Kyrgyzstan.

He said Kyrgyzstan was willing to work with China to comprehensively advance pragmatic cooperation in various fields and jointly crack down on the "three forces," namely terrorism, separatism and extremism.

Babanov was on an official visit to China from April 6 to 9.

Babanov's delegation included Minister of Transport and Communications, Minister of Energy, Minister of Natural Resources and Vice Foreign Minister.
