Chinese Artists with impairments dazzle Syrian audiences

Overcoming their disabilities and dazzling hundreds of Syrian audiences, the Chinese Handicapped Troupe for the Arts of Performance displayed Saturday its show at the Opera Theater in Damascus, Syria.

The troupe was received by a thunderous applause by hundreds of audiences that got attached to the show from the very first moment and until the last minute of the show, which lasted for two hours.

"Life is an experience, let's take all the challenges in life, with hearts full of happiness and gratitude." This is how a hearing impaired performer introduced the show with a lyrical moves that came in harmony with the words he was delivering.

The show kicked off with a dance called "Thousand-hand bodhisattva" staring Wei Yujie, and 20 other dancers with hearing impairments.

Dancers were depicting their imaginary world, open their hearts, and expressing their warm sentiments with graceful and colorful dances.

The 110-member Troupe show sends a message: "Life has its perfection and imperfection... Some of us don't see anything... Others don't hear anything... Life is a dream."

Mohammad Riyad Ismat, the Minister of Culture, told Xinhua that "the Syrian audiences had expressed their joy and happiness with those creative dancers, even though they are handicapped, but their show parallels those who are sound... We loved the show a lot and much applauded the show."
