Japan's Mitsubishi manages to create 200 CEOs: top executive

JAKARTA, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Japan's Mitsubishi Corp. claimed that it has manages to create 200 chief executive officers (CEOs) who are currently developing their companies following its success in educating youngsters working for it, a top executive said here on Monday.

Yorihiko Kojima, vice chairman of Japan Business Federation and Chairman of the Board at Mitsubishi Corp., told a forum at the World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia in Jakarta, that by providing education for young generation within the company, they could create their own companies after 'graduating' from Mitsubishi.

"Now, there are 200 CEOs who used to work in Mitsubishi and now they run their own companies," he said.

Quoting the National Science Foundation, Kojima said that Asia has bigger number of youngster compared to the U.S. and Europe.

"We have many talented young generations in Asia. And, this is one of keys for Asian growth," said Kojima.

That's why, he said, countries and companies should put a bigger attention to young generation as they usually have many fresh ideas in developing business.

"As chairman of Mitsubishi Corp., I believe that we have to educate young generation. Mitsubishi headquarters in Tokyo has employees from 32 different countries and out of total are from 27 Asian countries. I am glad to discuss with them as they often give us new ideas and new perspectives in developing new businesses," he said.

He said that his company provides awareness for its employees, sending them to India and Singapore to develop them selves.

"This is important as we want or company more globalized and Japan more open for other citizens," he said.
