Chinese netizens react to Norway attack

07-25-2011 10:17 BJT

People throughout the world have condemned the shooting and explosion which killed at least 91 people in Norway. Chinese netizens have expressed their blessings to the victims and have denounced the attacker. The following are the comments of Chinese netizens via micro blog.

Yuyoulan: Norway is such a peaceful country. They (the attacker) must be insane; totally lose their mind.

No name given: There are some lunatics in Norway and nowhere can avoid a lunatic. If the catastrophic disaster can change the mind of those who claim to give up the weapon control, it may be considered the lunatic attacker has made a little contribution to the construction of a harmonious society. I extend my condolences to the Norwegian people.

Youbianyuan: I just want to say that at this moment, we are a group of ordinary people who always feel sad and think about the blessing when facing a sudden lost of lives. Those who crow over others’ misfortune have lost the conscience and mercy which are the basic qualities of a human being. God blesses Norway and Oslo.

Huanghuanerhuan: Pay attention to the turbulence of the society and extend condolences to the victims. Even Norway - the peaceful place - has such a problem, where is the Pure Land?

Shanghai weiyao lawyer: It is out of my expectation that such a disastrous disturbance happened in Norway. Sigh! What kind of hate between human beings can create such a horrible violence?

God’s Love 2011: Strongly condemn Anders Behring Breivik. For so many peoples’ lives, I advise to amend the (Norwegian) law to punish the criminal severely!

Xiaowenxian: Bless all friends in Norway!

ljh931192: Norway, woe to you!

Tofourthsister: Norwegian people are simple and honest, much simpler than Chinese. I get very well along with my Norwegian friends and their smiles are very touching.

Yanfeng: Let me tell you a story showing the honesty and simplicity of Norwegian people. One day, I fell from my bicycle and no one was nearby, but two persons ran to me from afar and helped me stand up. They repeated asking me whether I needed to go to the hospital. One of them, an elderly person, even cleaned off the dust on my body.
