Kaka aims to save his Real Madrid future

MADRID, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid's Brazilian midfielder Kaka on Monday repeated his aim to keep fighting for a place in the side.

The player, who cost 65 million euros two years ago, has so far failed to show his best form at the club except for short bursts. Injuries have limited his options over the last two seasons and on Saturday night he was only substitute for Real Madrid's last friendly game of their American tour 2-1 in Philadelphia.

That has increased speculation that Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is beginning to lose patience with the player, but Kaka insisted that he has no intention of abandoning the club.

"This is a very important pre-season for me," Kaka told Diario AS. "It has started differently (after a knee injury last summer) and I am feeling better every day. We have won out three games here and the way we play is improving."

"Bit by bit I am getting my own confidence back and I am working hard to make sure that happens. It is something I have been missing and I need to have a lot of confidence and I am a lot better," he continued.

However, Kaka admitted that with the arrival of players such as Nuri Sahin and Jose Callejon over the summer, it was hard to say whether he would be starting many games.

"It is difficult to say that at the moment, but I am going to work with that intention. I want to succeed and convince people while I am here. The coaching staff and my companions have confidence in me and I have spoken with the club and the coach," he said.

"I do not want to leave here, the coach wants me to stay and the club has no need to sell me, so I am relaxed about things. I hope to enjoy this season playing football for Real Madrid," said Kaka.
