KUWAIT CITY, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait on Monday decided to recall its ambassador to Syria for consultations, Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah said.

The move came one day after Saudi Arabia on Sunday recalled its envoy to Damascus over its dissatisfaction against the violence and bloodshed.

Sheikh Mohammad, also the country's deputy premier, said that " no one can accept the bloodshed in Syria and military operation should be stopped."

He added foreign ministers from the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) would hold a meeting to discuss the situation in Syria.

Kuwait, together with other nations in the GCC, has called for dialogue and political solution to end the crisis in Syria.

Lawmakers in the Gulf Arab emirate has called on the government to expel the Syrian ambassador to the country over the crackdown on anti-government protesters. Foreign Ministry Undersecretary of Kuwait, Khaled Al-Jarallah said Monday the government had no such a plan.

The United Nations Security Council last Wednesday adopted a presidential statement condemning the Syrian authority's use of force against civilians and urged all parties to stop the violence.

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad later endorsed the multi-party and general election laws, as part of reforms announced by him of late to meet the Syrian people's demands.
