Wen said that the complicated nature of global politics, economics and security means that the international community should stick to a policy of unity and cooperation.

"China is ready to work closely with France to enhance coordination on China-France and China-Europe relations and promote the development of the China-France strategic partnership," Wen said.

Juppe, who is also France's state minister, told Wen that the French government highly values its partnership with China. He said that he appreciated China's support and confidence in the eurozone economy, vowing to make joint efforts with China to facilitate the sustained growth of France-China and Europe-China relations.

France hopes to cement its coordination and cooperation with China in order to ensure success at the G20 Cannes Summit, which will take place in France in November.

Juppe is on a three-day visit to China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi. Juppe will visit south China's Guangdong Province in addition to Beijing.
