BEIJING, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Xinhua News Agency was authorized on Tuesday to release the full text of a guideline adopted by central authorities on deepening the reform of the country's cultural system and promoting the development of "socialist culture."

The guideline was approved on Oct. 18 at the sixth plenary session of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The Chinese-language document includes nine sections, urging authorities to fully realize the importance of promoting cultural development, boost the construction of a "socialist core value system," accelerate the development of cultural industry, and improve the CPC's guidance regarding cultural affairs.

"China's revival must be accompanied by the prosperity of Chinese culture. The entire Party must unite and lead Chinese people of all ethnic groups to strive for cultural achievements with full confidence," the guideline said.
